It provides an easy way for his friends and family to check in on him,
and serves as a online repository for his random
thoughts, kaleidoscopic flashbacks, and writings on an array of diverse topics.
“Deconstructing Jim” is simply here to
entertain you, but not intended for college credit.

Amsterdam!

On a recent trip...

Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Population 18,355.

The city was settled in 1710 by the Dutch, who initially called the community Veedersburgh (named after a mill owner named Albert Veeder). It was renamed to Amsterdam in 1803.

It is situated along the Mohawk River and Erie Canal.

Amsterdam NY is the birthplace of Issur Danielovitch, better known as the famous Hollywood actor Kirk Douglas.

I wasn't able to visit the original Amsterdam this year, but you can read my blog post from exactly a year ago today when I last visited that great city.
